In this study, a novel method is presented for the preconcentration of trace silver using titanium dioxide nanotubes (TDNTs) as a new adsorption material packed into microcolumn prior to the determination by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The adsorption and elution behaviors of silver ion studied on TDNTs were investigated systematically under dynamic conditions. The effects of pH, sample flow rate and volume, elution solution, and interfering ions on the preconcentration and separation of the analytes were examined in detail.
