Based of the fact that the theoretical study of the short-leg shear wall falls behind the practice in China, cyclic reversed loading tests on six reinforced short-leg shear walls with 1:2 scales are carried out. The damage form and working capability of the specimen show that the final damage of the specimens are caused by the failure of the connecting beam, which is the weak part of the structure. The loading capacity of SLSW with flanged-walls is better than those without flanged-wall. Finite element analysis software is used to establish a part entity FE model of the SLSW.
