In this study, a fluorine-fluorine interaction approach through fluoridating boron nitride nanosheets (BNNs) for sensing perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in multiple food matrices was developed. Through a facile hydrothermal fluorination modification, the BNNs were transferred into homogeneous fluorinated boron nitride nanoparticles (F-BNNs) with robust networks and specific surface area.
