Crude swine superoxide dismutase was treated by heating denaturalization with different concentration of Cu^2+ and Zn^2+ and under various temperatures for finding the best condition of purifying swine superoxide dismutase. It was found that sulfates of Cu^2+ and Zn^2+ are better than chlorates and 2 mmol/L Cu^2+ and 3 mmol/L Zn^2+ is the best for protecting SOD. Under this condition, the relative activity of SOD is enhanced by 78.4% over and that of the control and the precipitation of miscellaneous proteins is also improved by 21.2%. At this concentration ...
