This study used the self-made questionnaire and depression self rating scale（ SDS）,to investigate 200 the elderly which over the age of 60 in Changqing-garden community of Wuhan. The results showed that the incidence of depression of the aged community residents was 14. 9%,the needs of cleaning and health care of the elderly which had depressive symptoms was higher,they also had certain requirements to the spiritual solace.
