Multi-tank model is a helpful tool for rainfall-groundwater-runoff analysis since it can represent a nonlinear transport behavior and give predictions very quickly. Because of its high dimension, it is typically difficult to obtain optimal model parameters using the existing methods. A new random optimization approach called modified dynamically dimensioned search (MDDS) is introduced for parameters calibration of the new model.
