The contents of key components including the protein,free gossypol,lysine acid and methionine acid were determined at each process stage so as to evaluate the technical feasibility of a novel process for degossypol cottonseed meal production.The dehulled cottonseed was pressed at low temperature followed by extraction with hexane solvent to produce defatted meal,then the defatted meal was extracted by methanol to remove gossypol.The obtained degossypol cottonseed meal retained most of lysine acid and methionine acid,while contained the 50.15% protein and 0.008 2% free gossypol.The results sugg...
