Porous spheres of AgBr nanoparticles with an average diameter of 150-200 nm have been prepared by a simple reaction between AgCl suspension and KBr in the presence of gelatin at 10 °C. Gelatin played a decisive role as an inhibitor of the direct attack of Br- ions to AgCl surfaces and coagulation of the growing AgBr in producing the porous spheres at lower temperature.
