Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate whether aspartate (Asp) could alleviate Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced intestinal injury by modulating intestine inflammatory response. Methods: Twenty-four weaned piglets were divided into four treatments: (1) non-challenged control; (2) LPS-challenged control; (3) LPS + 0.5 % Asp; and (4) LPS + 1.0 % Asp.
