The composite films of Ag/HDPE with high antibacterial activity on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus of high density polyethylene (ELDPE) films deposited by SiOx and Ag were prepared via vacuum evaporation technology, the amount of silver being 2.886 ug/cm(2). It was found that the adhesion between the HDPE film and the Ag coating was highly improved when the SiOx was used as a transitionary coating. And the SiOx coating had no effect on the mechanical and barrier properties of Ag/HDPE composite films, while it made the anti...
