The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascade is a unique and relatively conserved signaling pathway in eukaryotes, transmitting extracellular signals into cells through successive phosphorylation and eliciting appropriate responses from the organism. While its mechanism in plant immune response has been partially elucidated in Arabidopsis, it has been rarely examined in Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum).
