This study contrasts Obama’s and Trump’s solutions to the same immigration issue, with the focus on how metaphors and metaphorical stories they use can cause such a divergence of the issue between them. The analysis is based on two of their speeches: Obama’s remarks by the president in address to the nation on immigration(November 20, 2014), and Trump’s full immigration speech(August 31, 2016).
