Health numeracy is an important influencing factor in maintaining health and making informed medical decisions.We introduce the definitions of health numeracy,and then reviewed the relationship between numeracy and health-related risk perception,medical decision model,health behavior and health outcomes.Recent researches had shown that the numeracy was related to accuracy of perceptions of health-related risks.Less-numerate patients often chose lower quality medical decisions,and performed less health behaviors,and received more unsatisfied health outcomes.Finally,we discussed the limitations ...
