在认知语言学研究范式下，传统修辞学中名词性隐喻的喻底可以被抽象成为临时认知域（ ad hoc cognitive domain， ACD）。该认知域是原隐喻中本体和喻体的上位概念，本体和喻体是这一认知域的范畴成员。由此，名词隐喻中的跨域映射经由临时认知域转化成为同一认知域域内成员之间的映射，即转喻或转喻机制在名词隐喻的产生或理解中起着基础性的作用。从转喻和隐喻的各自的认知基础来看，这也是符合人类认知规律的：相似性基于邻近性，邻近性保证相似性。

From the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics, ground of metaphors in traditional rhetoric is ab-stracted as an ad hoc cognitive domain (ACD)—the overcharging domain that includes both the tenor and the vehicle as its domain members.Consequently, the original cross-domain metaphoric mappings are projected, via shared properties, from source domain to target domain within the same ACD.That is to say, metonymy or metonymic mechanism plays a basic role in the genesis of metaphor.Besides, considering the cognitive basis of metonymy and metaphor re...
