The hierarchical nanostructured FeS2 hollow microspheres composed of nanoflakes were fabricated based on Ostwald ripening using sulfur powder as sulfur source and triethanolamine as both solvent and reducing agent, and electrochemically investigated as cathode material for lithium-ion batteries.
