In this paper, a versatile complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for microbolometric infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) is presented. By applying a variable column-shared current mirror (CM) proportional circuit, the ROIC can be used in applications on different occasions from very high background to quite low background.
