In traffic image processing, image edge detection is an important part of image processing and analysis. Firstly, the original image is gray-scale transformation. Then the image is smoothed processing with median filter in order to improve the quality of image edge detection. With iterative method for image segmentation, black and white binary image is obtained. Lastly,on this basis, in accordance with the detection criteria to extract and tracking contour.
