Mass transport Complexes (MTCs) form significant sediment accumulations in continental slopes, hold key insights for natural hazard prediction and offshore oil exploration. This paper uses high-definition 3D seismic data to reconstruct the seismic geomorphology and sedimentary dynamics of MTCs, meticulously exploring the depositional systems of the Tanaraki Basin, New Zealand. It deciphers by kinematic notation, seismic faciess, quantifies megaclast morphological characteristics, in conjunction with the basal slope and channel structure development as the migration or kinematics of MTCs.
