Cadmium (Cd) is a well-recognized, hazardous toxic heavy metal, and the adverse effects of high-level Cd exposure on human health have been well documented. However, little is known about the health effects of low-level environmental Cd exposure on pregnant women. The objective of this study was to assess urinary metabolic alterations in pregnant women exposed to environmental Cd, and to identify informative biomarkers.
