TiO2-loaded Ti3C2 with small interlayer spacing [TiO2/Ti3C2(SIS)] was successfully synthesized through hydrothermal treatment and subsequent calcination under argon atmosphere. The phase composition, morphology and photophysical properties of Ti3C2, TiO2 and TiO2/Ti3C2(SIS) were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FSEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV–Vis spectrophotometry and fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively.
