Given that architectural aesthetics, as a combination of both art and engineering technologies, has been drawing more and more attention, it's has been architects' top priority how to strive a balance between them to achieve real structural aesthetics with an integration of stiffness and softness. As comprehensive arts, architecture contains both structural design based on mechanics and architectural design with stress on aesthetics. Due to differences in their foundations and restrictions and binding principles, they are not naturally united and need architects to mix both architectural design and structural design.

摘要:
There are many factors involved in the planning and design of high-rise buildings. This paper has analyzed requirements related to the planning and design of high-rise buildings and put forward the strategy of combining BIM with GIS technology in its design. Such a collaborative planning and design approach can not only improve work efficiency, but also lay a solid foundation for subsequent production and management.

摘要:
An optimal model for determining minimum-cost inspection schedules for hidden-function systems is presented. The probabilities of the hidden-function system failure as well as the failure of the object the system intends to protect are taken into account to develop this model. Through balancing the cost of multiple failure against the cost of planned inspection, an optimal policy is established which minimizes the expected total cost. As an example, the calculation results for a hidden-function system with Weibull failure distribution are given.

For a long time, government departments and law enforcement departments there is a serious problem. Therefore, how to construct the government execution culture is a new problem in front of us. Because of poor government administrative ability, experience of how to construct the enterprises executive culture must be used for the establishment of an active government execution culture for reference. Expounds the administrative ability connotation, lists the causes of e-government lower efficiency. On this basis, put forward to strengthen the executive ability construction is an effective way to improve the efficiency of e-government. Finally, the article explains how to construct the executive power of the government.

This paper studies the mixture of cement mortar with a phase change material (PCM) and analyzes the changes in mechanical and physical performances. The experimental results demonstrate that an increase in PCM content results in decreases in consistency, compressive strength, bulk density and water retention. Therefore, these results can provide a reference for the application of phase change materials in practical engineering conditions.

This paper presents a study of the properties of municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash, including their size distribution, pH value, microscopic morphology, mineral components, heavy metal content, and leaching toxicity. It is found that: over 80% of fly ash particles have diameters between 0.105-0.154mm, and the mass ratios of particles smaller than 0.063nun and larger than 0.154min are both lower than 5%; the fly ash particles tend to be strongly alkaline (pH >= 11); their main elements are Cl, Ca, K, Na, Si, Al, 0 and 5, and their main heavy metal elements are Zn, Pb, Cr and Cu. The material generally exists as irregularly shaped amorphous solids and polycrystalline aggregates. Their leaching toxicity has exceeded the criteria for hazardous wastes.

A Monte Carlo simulation scheme is presented to study the behavior of fatigue crack propagation under random overloads. Overloads of Poisson flow with uniform distribution on base-line constant-amplitude cyclic loads are considered. The retardation effect of overload on fatigue crack growth is taken into account by using Wheeler retardation model. The fatigue crack growth curve from initial crack size till fatigue fracture is simulated step by step. With the large number of the simulated samples, the average fatigue crack propagation life is obtained and the influences of overload intensity and magnitude on fatigue lifetime are studied.

In the development of an elasto-plastic framework for unsaturated soils, it is necessary to determine the shape of the yield curve. Accordingly, correct determination of shapes of yield curves is of significant importance. Existing methods rely on use of a series of specimens with "identical" stress history to determine the initial shape of yield curve. Preparation of such specimens requires thoughtful preparation, careful instrumentation, and lengthy equilibrium time, which makes identical specimens very difficult to obtain. As a result, the yield curve obtained through the existing methods could be misleading. This paper discussed the problems associated with the determination of yield curve for unsaturated soils.

Reinforcement materials were evaluated with respect to effect on sod strength for different seeding densities. Evaluations were performed using sample plantings in a greenhouse setting. For determining suitable reinforcement materials, was conducted on native grass species for three of those ecoregions. The initial evaluation for determining native grass species was performed using species from six different ecoregions of California. Basic species evaluation was done using biomass, species abundance, and total ground cover. The objective was to evaluate a number of native grass species and reinforcement materials for their suitability for contributing to a harvestable multispecies sod for roadside rehabilitation.

Suction-controlled triaxial (SCTX) tests are considered to allow researchers to investigate influences of individual variables on unsaturated soils under specified stress path with controls of stresses, pore water and air pressures. In the past fifty years, SCTX testing method has been established as a standard approach to characterize constitutive behavior for unsaturated soils. Most important concepts for modern unsaturated soil mechanics were developed upon results from the SCTX tests. Among these, one of the most important contributions in the constitutive modeling of elasto-plastic behavior for unsaturated soils is the Barcelona Basic Model (BBM) proposed by Alonso et al. (1990). The BBM successfully explained many features of unsaturated soils and received extensive acceptance. The BBM has now been considered as a canon of unsaturated soil mechanics and all existing elasto-plastic models are variants of the BBM. This study however indicates that the SCTX tests in fact cannot correctly produce the results needed for constitutive modelling purposes.

The tradition of architecture design is a complete set of expression symbol formed within a specific region, with the edification of the region's unique culture and after a long time of precipitation It is in line with people's aesthetic, is a summary of the people's living demands, and also a unique "culture" with regional features. However, with the development of society and economy, people's living demands are also changing, which means blindly following regional architectural tradition cannot meet the requirements of contemporary people. The correct way is to combine with external characteristics of natural environment and resources and new living demand characteristics, design architecture complying with traditional aesthetic requirements, meeting contemporary people's living demands, and fitting in external environment as well, and to advocate energy conservation and environment protection and sustainable development, thus requiring architecture design to have the "function" in accordance with the current era. In fact, the fusion of tradition and modern in architecture design is the fusion of "culture" and "function", and is also the expression of architecture design advancing with the times. This thesis conducted research on the fusion method of tradition and modern in architecture design provided.

6 finite element models of ANSYS were constructed. A material nonlinear finite element analysis by the finite element calculation software ANSYS on reinforced concrete beams strengthened by SGFRP under the gravity symmetric concentrated loads was performed. The load-displacement curves of the models obtained from ANSYS simulation were described. The ultimate loads of the 3 models strengthened by SGFRP increased significantly. The bond length and the thickness of the GFRP layer affect the bearing capacity and the deformation capacity of the beam. The results of the nonlinear finite element analysis of the models reveal the influence factors to reinforcement effect. Some effective and reasonable reinforcement suggestions are proposed.

A generalized model for determining minimum-cost preventive maintenance schedules of a maintained reliability system is presented. Through balancing the cost of system failure during operation against the cost of planned maintenance, an optimal policy is established which minimizes the expected cost rate. A simple equation to determine the optimal period between maintenances for a system with the known failure distribution is acquired, and the calculation for the system with Gamma failure distribution is given.

摘要:
An optimal model for determining minimum-cost spare number for systems with components connected in series and parallel is presented. The component availability with a certain number of spares is derived through Poisson process theory. Then the availability of series-parallel system is obtained with system reliability analysis method. Consequently, the optimization model is established to minimize the total spare cost of the system under the requirement of specified system availability. Genetic algorithms are applied to find the optimal amount of spares for each component and two illustrative examples are given.
