This paper experimentally study the process and characteristics of the bridge structure steel CTOD specimens weld seam fatigue crack prefabricated. The results provide an experimental base and computing foundations for the bridge This paper studies the CTOD (Crack tip opening displacement) fatigue precracking experiment on steel Q370qE, which is of common use in bridge buildings. The experiment respectively tested Different thickness of Fatigue crack growth of Welded seam, whose results are analyzed, and the corresponding conclusions were studied.

Traffic distribution is extremely uneven in Changqing campus of Wuhan Polytechnic University. To find out how exactly unbalanced it is and how to remedy this situation, investigation and questionnaire were carried out. Here only focus on the traffic investigation which was adopted eight observation points, including four entrances to the campus and four points in the campus' main roads. They were observed for 15 days and recorded 15 minutes for the interval from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm. Then line graphs are made to contrast. The traffic has been proved to be unbalanced among four gates or even in the main roads. A characteristic in the places with heavy traffic flow is in common that the traffic fluctuation is highly related to students' class schedule. That is, traffic usually reaches its peak at the time before and after classes, and falls rapidly during classes. The outcomes are analyzed from two respects, one is the concentration of main functional areas, and the other is the large green space without attraction to people. Finally, some suggestions for the strategy of campus' reconstruction planning are put forward to improve these aspects.

This research represents an exciting first step towards the use of native grass sod as a tool in the toolbox of best management practices for erosion control and for treating stormwater runoff from highway surfaces. The main "product" from the research is this final project report that documents the background, methodology, and research findings. The intended customers for this product include Caltrans planners, landscape architects, as well as other stakeholders such as highway resource managers. Caltrans decision-makers responsible for roadside vegetation management can benefit from the better knowledge gained from this research on the potential and feasibility of using native grass sod on disturbed land along highways. Information regarding the best native grass species mixes and reinforcement materials can also benefit researchers, sod producers and maintenance engineers for the production, transplantation, maintenance and establishment of native grass sod in California and potentially other states.

This experiment was designed to test the hypothesis that multispecies sod has the potential to suppress annual weed invasion. In general, these experiments provided evidence that emergence of canola was low when sown as seed rain or seed bank with multispecies sod and was significantly (p < 0.001) lower the second year after sod was laid. Experiment B results indicated the reinforcement materials did significantly (p < 0.05) further decrease canola emergence in Experiment B-2 (2007). Of the emerged seedlings survival to maturation the vegetative biomass and the seed biomass of these plants was significantly affected by water regime for both the A and B experiments. In contrast, in the reinforcement (B) experiments water regime did not affect survival but the presence of the material increased the proportion of surviving plants. These experiments indicated that multispecies sod could be used as an alternative roadside revegetation technique. It established and survived without supplemental water and reduced weed emergence and survival.

This research project will attempt to combine the quick establishment and soil reinforcing properties of sod with the long-term benefits of using native plants. It builds on research by Dollhopf and other scientists in the Land Resources and Environmental Services Department and the Plant Sciences and Pathology Department at MSU. Researchers worked with Bitterroot Turf Farm in Corvallis, Montana to develop, propagate, and test native grass sod for the Montana Department of Transportation. "This foundation research helped us develop methodologies and cost information that we can directly apply in California," said Dollhopf; "We are using our experience selecting, growing, harvesting, and transporting native grass sod in Montana to develop appropriate sods for California.

An optimal model for determining minimum-cost spare number for systems with components connected in series where the failure time of components follow any general distribution is presented. The component availability with a certain number of spares is derived through renewal process theory and the system availability is obtained with system reliability analysis method. The object of the optimization problem is to minimize the total spare cost of the system under the requirement of specified system availability. Genetic algorithms are used to find the optimal amount of spares for each component. Finally, an illustrative example is given.

In this paper, the modern, urban commercial walking street is the research object. The purpose is to promote the level of commercial walking street planning, and improve the quality of urban commercial shopping environment. Based on the updated mode of modern commercial walking street planning and design, a case analysis is performed. The planning ideas of the project of Ming Yang Commercial Walking Street in Xinyang is discussed and the important principles in planning and design of the modern commercial walking street from different aspects, such as the design concept, overall layout, landscape design and architectural modelling is summarized. Thus, this work makes a valuable reference for contemporary urban commercial walking street.

3 masonry columns were strengthened by Sprayed Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (SGFRP), and a research of the seismic behavior of them tested by axial loading experiment was presented. The failure modes of the specimens were described, and the data about the load capacity and deformations of masonry columns strengthened by SGFRP were gathered during the experiment. The results showed that the ultimate loads of the reinforced columns increased greatly, and the deformation capacity and the ductility of the columns improved significantly too. Comparing the strengthening effects of the columns when the thickness of strengthen layer and the length of the glass fiber are different, the most effective and reasonable reinforce suggestions are proposed.

Structural morphological design makes a breakthrough at traditional concept that structural is regarded only as the technological means in architecture composition.Starting from the concrete and abstract cognition on the structural morphological design,this paper analyses the influence of structure technology on architectural forms,discusses its application principle and the main distinction of the traditional structure design.By exploring the mechanics laws with typical cases,the paper summarizes the structural expression method and propounds new ideas for architectural form with structural morphology, in order to enlighten the thoughts of innovative application on structural morphological design in architectural creation.

Earth pressure field and hydrostatic water pressure field are usually considered for classical earth pressure theories. With the aid of TI CCS4.0 software development platform, using C language, a kind of track detection algorithm based on gray image is implemented on DM642. The detailed design and implementation steps are introduced. First, image median filtering, vertical sobel edge enhancement, and using the threshold segmentation method for binarization processing. Then search and mark connected domain on the basis of the binary images and prepare for extraction the connected domain about rail. Finally extract and fill around tracks to get a image containng only track region. The experimental results show that the design is convenient and feasible, and used in actual projects.
