黄芩苷对仔猪感染副猪嗜血杆菌后血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标的影响

摘要:
为研究黄芩苷对仔猪感染副猪嗜血杆菌(Glaesserella parasuis,GPS)后血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标的影响,选取48头\"杜×长×大\"健康断奶仔猪,随机分为6组,分别为:空白对照组、GPS感染模型组、对照药物氟尼辛葡甲胺组和不同剂量黄芩苷处理组(肌内注射,剂量分别为25、50和100 mg/kg)。饲养3 d后进行攻毒及药物处理,攻毒后48 h和96 h分别采集血样进行血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标检测。结果显示,攻毒后48 h,氟尼辛葡甲胺能缓解副猪嗜血杆菌引起的血小板、单核细胞数量的降低(P<0.01),缓解嗜碱性粒细胞数量的降低及谷丙转氨酶含量的升高(P<0.05);25、50及100 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解血小板、单核细胞数量的降低(P<0.01);25、100 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解谷丙转氨酶含量的升高(P<0.05);50 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解红细胞数量的降低(P<0.05)。攻毒后96 h,氟尼辛葡甲胺能缓解副猪嗜血杆菌引起的白细胞、中性粒细胞数量的升高及淋巴细胞数量的降低(P<0.01);25、50及100 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解白细胞、中性粒细胞数量的升高;50 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解血小板数量的降低(P<0.05);100 mg/kg黄芩苷能缓解葡萄糖、磷含量的降低(P<0.05)。以上结果表明,黄芩苷能在一定程度上缓解仔猪因感染GPS引起的血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标的异常变化。

摘要:
Haemophilus parasuis can elicit serious inflammatory responses, which contribute to huge economic losses to the swine industry. However, the pathogenic mechanisms underlying inflammation-related damage induced by H. parasuis remain unclear. Accumulating evidence indicates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have important functions in the regulation of autoimmune disorders. Baicalin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-oxidant activities. In this study, we investigated whether lncRNAs were involved in the vascular injury or inflammation triggered by H. parasuis and whether baicalin regulated the lncRNA profiles of porcine aortic vascular endothelial cells (PAVECs) infected with H. parasuis. The results showed that the lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles of PAVECs were changed by H. parasuis. Important functions of lncRNAs and mRNAs were predicted. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses demonstrated that the targets of differentially expressed lncRNAs of H. parasuis infected PAVECs were mainly involved in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling pathway, apoptosis, and N-glycan biosynthesis; whereas nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism, the cytosolic DNA-sensing pathway, the TNF signaling pathway, and the nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B signaling pathway were enriched in PAVECs pretreated with baicalin. In addition, top hub genes and lncRNAs were identified and validated by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. CCL5, GBP1, and SAMHD1 were significantly upregulated after H. parasuis infection, whereas they were significantly downregulated with baicalin pretreatment. LncRNA ALDBSSCT0000001677, ALDBSSCT0000001353, MSTRG.10724.2, and ALDBSSCT0000010434 had the same expression pattern. Collectively, these data suggested that baicalin could modify changes to the lncRNAs profiles or regulate lncRNAs that participate in inflammation-related signaling pathways, thereby alleviating tissue damage or inflammatory responses induced by H. parasuis. To our best knowledge, this is the first article of H. parasuis stimulating changes to the lncRNA profiles of PAVECs and the capability of baicalin to regulate lncRNA changes in PAVECs infected with H. parasuis, which might provide a novel therapeutic target for the control of H. parasuis infection.

In this work, the high-level expression of the human lysozyme (HLY) was achieved by both optimization of the gene copy number and co-expression of the transcription factor Hac1p for the unfolded protein response (UPR) in the host strain Pichia pastoris KM71H. A series of recombinant constructs with various numbers of HLY expression cassettes was generated for the production of recombinant strains integrated with different copies of the HLY gene. The copy number of the HLY gene was determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and the recombinant strains of P. pastoris carrying one, two, three, four, or six copies of the HLY gene were obtained. Maximum extracellular protein and lysozyme enzyme activity reached 436.99 ± 26.08μg/mL and 61,900 ± 2036.47 U/mL, respectively, in the recombinant strain HLYH4-3 with the four copies of the HLY gene after shaking flask fermentation. Moreover, the co-expression of the transcription factor Hac1p in the recombinant strains further enhanced the HLY yields. Extracellular protein and lysozyme enzyme activity, respectively, reached 517.82 ± 4.19μg/mL and 78,600 ± 1134.95 U/mL by using the Hac1p co-expression strain HLYH4-3/Hac1p. These values are the highest recorded level of human lysozyme expressed by P. pastoris in shaking flask fermentation so far. © 2020, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

摘要:
Glaesserella parasuis (G. parasuis) causes porcine vascular inflammation and damage. Baicalin is reported to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions. However, whether baicalin protects piglets against G. parasuis challenge and the potential protective mechanism have not been investigated. Therefore, in this study, we comprehensively examined the protective efficacy of baicalin in piglets challenged with G. parasuis and the possible protective mechanism. Our results show that baicalin attenuated the release of the inflammation-related cytokines interleukin (IL) 1β, IL6, IL8, IL10, and tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α) and reduced high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) production and cell apoptosis in piglets infected with G. parasuis. Baicalin also inhibited the activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway and protected piglets against G. parasuis challenge. Taken together, our data suggest that baicalin could protect piglets from G. parasuis by reducing HMGB1 release, attenuating cell apoptosis, and inhibiting MAPK signalling activation, thereby alleviating the inflammatory response induced by the bacteria. Our results suggest that baicalin has utility as a novel therapeutic drug to control G. parasuis infection.

摘要:
试验旨在评估厨余发酵产物(fermentation products of kitchen waste,FPKW)对鲫鱼肝脏、肠和肾脏显微结构的影响。在饲料中分别添加0%、3%、6%、9%、12%、15%和30%FPKW饲喂初始体重为(7.4±0.21) g"中科3号"异育银鲫60 d。结果表明:①0%、3%~12%FPKW组鲫鱼整个肝细胞轮廓清晰、结构完整;而15%和30%FPKW组鲫鱼肝细胞肿胀、透明空泡化,细胞核出现偏离、萎缩,胞浆中充满脂肪滴;②与对照组相比,3%~15%FPKW组鲫鱼肠绒毛数量及高度呈现递增趋势,肌层厚度则呈现降低;当FPKW添加30%时,肠绒毛肌层厚度[(71.05±4.91)μm]显著高于对照组(P<0.05),肠绒毛高度[(229.98±44.03)μm]及数量(16.75±0.5)虽与对照组无显著差异(P>0.05),但中肠上皮组织中的细胞核增多且排列混乱,肠绒毛中的杯状细胞显著增多;③对照组及3%~12%FPKW组鲫鱼肾小管结构完整,无明显病理病灶,而在15%和30%FPKW组鲫鱼肾脏出现明显的炎性细胞浸润,组织纤维化等病理特征。综上各器官显微结构表明,当饲料中FPKW添加量不高于12%时,对异育鲫鱼肝脏、肠和肾脏的显微结构均无不良影响。

摘要:
The genotoxicity and cytotoxicity of lanthanum (La(III)) were studied in fish micronucleus analysis in erythrocytes of the rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus). Fish were exposed to 0.04, 08, 0.16, 0.32, and 0.80 mg L–1 of La concentration for 21 days. Several important morphological alterations of the nucleus were noted, such as the ratio of micronucleated erythrocyte, and total ratio of erythrocytes with nuclear anomalies, blebs, notches, and so on. The total ratio of nuclear anomalies was significantly higher (P < 0.05) in G. rarus exposed to La(III) (except for 0.04 mg L–1) compared with the control. Hypsometric analysis indicated significant dose-dependent changes in erythrocyte and nucleus dimensions (P < 0.05). Various abnormal morphological forms of erythrocytes were also observed. These results showed that La(III) was cytotoxic to erythrocytes of the rare minnow. © 2020, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Glässer’s disease, caused by Haemophilus parasuis (H. parasuis), is associated with vascular damage and vascular inflammation in pigs. Therefore, early assessment and treatment are essential to control the inflammatory disorder. MicroRNAs have been shown to be involved in the vascular pathology. Baicalin has important pharmacological functions, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. In this study, we investigated the changes of microRNAs in porcine aortic vascular endothelial cells (PAVECs) induced by H. parasuis and the effect of baicalin in this model by utilizing high-throughput sequencing. The results showed that 155 novel microRNAs and 76 differentially expressed microRNAs were identified in all samples. Subsequently, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis of the target genes of the differentially expressed microRNAs demonstrated that regulation of actin cytoskeleton, focal adhesion, ECM-receptor interaction, bacterial invasion of epithelial cells, and adherens junction were the most interesting pathways after PAVECs were infected with H. parasuis. In addition, when the PAVECs were pretreated with baicalin, mismatch repair, peroxisome, oxidative phosphorylation, DNA replication, and ABC transporters were the most predominant signaling pathways. STRING analysis showed that most of the target genes of the differentially expressed microRNAs were associated with each other. The expression levels of the differentially expressed microRNAs were negatively co-regulated with their target genes’ mRNA following pretreatment with baicalin in the H. parasuis-induced PAVECs using co-expression networks analysis. This is the first report that microRNAs might have key roles in inflammatory damage of vascular tissue during H. parasuis infection. Baicalin regulated the microRNAs changes in the PAVECs following H. parasuis infection, which may represent useful novel targets to prevent or treat H. parasuis infection. © 2020, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

在水产养殖产品升级与经营转型的大背景下,借我校水产养殖专业列入湖北省“荆楚卓越人才”协同育人计划的契机,针对水产养殖专业人才培养普遍存在的问题,结合我校水产专业人才培养的现状、目标定位与特色发展方向,笔者以教学一线教师的视角,从构建战略联盟长效机制的前提与基础、战略联盟的确定与遴选、人才培养知识体系的构建、专业技能及综合素质培养体系构建等方面,提出自己对“荆楚卓越水产人才”协同培养的一些思考与建议,以期为本校水产专业的学科建设和人才培养提供思路与探讨主题,并通过逐步教学实践探索,进而形成一套专业特色鲜明,能充分适应社会和行业需求的人才培养模式.

镧对稀有鮈鲫肝胰脏抗氧化酶活性及MDA含量的影响

以氯化镧(LaCl_3·7H_2O)为试验毒物,以稀有鮈鲫(Gobiocypris rarus)为试验材料,采用21 d慢性毒性试验(La~(3+)浓度分别为0.00、0.04、0.08、0.16、0.32、0.80 mg/L),通过检测稀有鮈鲫肝胰脏中超氧物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性和丙二醛(MDA)含量,研究了镧暴露胁迫对水生动物抗氧化系统的影响,以期从抗氧化生理响应的角度探讨稀土元素镧对水生动物的毒理机理。结果显示,与对照组相比,0.04~0.32 mg/L试验组肝胰脏SOD活性出现一定程度降低(P>0.05),但0.80 mg/L组SOD活性出现一定程度上升(P>0.05);0.04~ 0.32 mg/L试验组肝胰脏CAT活性较对照组出现一定程度降低(P>0.05),但0.80 mg/L组CAT活性出现一定程度上升(P>0.05),且0.80 mg/L组CAT活性显著高于0.04~0.32 mg/L组(P<0.05);0.04~0.16 mg/L试验组肝胰脏MDA含量较对照组出现一定程度降低(P>0.05),0.32 mg/L组MDA含量略微升高(P>0.05), 0.80 mg/L组MDA含量显著高于对照组(P<0.05),也显著高于其它La~(3+)暴露组(P<0.05)。研究表明,一定浓度的La~(3+)暴露胁迫会对环境中水生生物抗氧化系统产生不利影响。

[目的]本试验旨在研究副猪嗜血杆菌(Haemophilus parasuis,HPS)感染仔猪后引起的全身炎症反应情况,探讨黄芩苷对副猪嗜血杆菌病炎症反应的体内抑制作用。[方法]构建仔猪副猪嗜血杆菌感染模型,设计不同分组:空白对照组、副猪嗜血杆菌模型组和5个药物处理组,药物处理组分别为2种对照药物(丙酮酸乙酯、氟尼辛葡甲胺)以及3个不同剂量(25、50、100mg·kg-1.bw)的黄芩苷。通过仔猪体征及临床症状观察、组织病理学检查、血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标测定;采用ELISA法测定血清中炎性因子(TNF-α、IL-1β、IL-6、IL-8、IL-18、HMGB1)及抗炎因子(IL-10)的含量;Q-RT PCR法测定单核细胞中炎性因子(TNF-α、IL-1β、IL-6、IL-8、IL-18、HMGB1)及抗炎因子(IL-10)的mRNA表达水平,评价黄芩苷对副猪嗜血杆菌诱导仔猪炎症反应的抑制效果。[结果]结果表明,25~100mg·kg-1.bw剂量的黄芩苷均能不同程度地缓解副猪嗜血杆菌诱导引起的仔猪体征、临床表现、组织病理学、血细胞分类计数和血液生化指标的变化;25~100mg·kg-1.bw剂量的黄芩苷及对照药物能显著或极显著地抑制血清中炎性因子含量的升高;25~100mg·kg-1.bw剂量的黄芩苷及对照药物能显著或极显著地下调单核细胞中炎性因子mRNA的表达水平。[结论]黄芩苷对副猪嗜血杆菌感染仔猪后引起的炎症反应有明显的保护作用,本研究为黄芩苷控制副猪嗜血杆菌病炎症的临床用药方案提供了理论依据。

摘要:
通过在日粮中添加不同剂量稀土壳聚糖螯合盐(rare earth-chitosan chelate, RECC),研究其对鲫鱼(Carassius auratus)肌肉品质的影响。试验分为4个组:空白对照组、0.08%组、0.16%组、0.24%组,各组日粮中稀土壳聚糖螯合盐添加水平分别为0.00%、0.08%、0.16%、0.24%。每组设5个重复,每个重复放养35尾试验鱼。采用生物化学分析和高效液相色谱法分析肌肉中营养组分。结果表明:在同一解冻时间时,各RECC添加组鲫鱼肌肉渗出性损失均较空白对照组有不同程度降低(P>0.05);各RECC添加组水分、粗脂肪、磷含量与空白对照组较为接近(P>0.05),粗蛋白质、钙含量均较空白对照组增加(P>0.05),灰分含量降低(P>0.05)。各RECC添加组鲫鱼肌肉中肌苷含量均高于或显著高于空白对照组,其中0.16%组显著高于空白对照组(P<0.05);肌苷酸含量也均高于空白对照组(P>0.05);胆固醇含量则均较空白对照组有不同程度下降(P>0.05)。以上结果表明,稀土壳聚糖螯合盐对鲫鱼肌肉成分不仅无不良影响,而且对其品质、风味有一定增强改善作用。

摘要:
This study was designed to evaluate the physiological and cytological responses in liver of GIFT tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) to acute copper exposure. Fish were exposed to three Cu treatments at the following concentrations: 0 (control), 1.96 mg/L and 3.92 mg/L, and liver samples were collected after 96h of exposure. Observation of oil red O staining showed that acute copper exposure increased lipid accumulation in liver, which may due to changes of hepatic enzyme activities (malic enzyme, lipoprotein lipase, hepatic lipase, fatty acid synthetase, carnitine palmitoyltransferases l) and lesions of some organelles such as mitochondria and swollen rough endoplasmic reticulum of hepatocytes. This study indicated that acute copper exposure induced hepatic lipid metabolic disturbances and damaged hepatic organelle in GIFT tilapia. © 2018, Israeli Journal of Aquaculture - Bamidgeh. We evaluated the acute toxicity effects of lanthanum (La(III)) on gill and liver of rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus). The median lethal concentration of La (III) at 96 h was 1.92 mg L–1. Rare minnow were reared in freshwater and exposed to 0.04, 0.08, 0.16, 0.32 and 0.80 mg L–1 La (III) for 21 d. Gill and liver samples were analyzed by light microscopy. The main histopathological changes induced by La (III) in gills were epithelial lifting, filamentary epithelial proliferation,edema, lamellar fusion, desquamation, and necrosis. Histopathological changes induced by La (III) in the liver included dilation of sinusoids, focal congestion, pyknotic nuclei, karyohexis and karyolysis, vacuolar degeneration, and numerous necrosis areas. Hypsometric analysis indicated significant changes in the measures of gill dimensions (average length, width, area), suggesting metabolic disturbance (gas exchange) upon La (III) exposure. The result showed that La (III) severely affects fish gill and liver. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.

A 42–day trial was conducted to evaluate the performance of juvenile (0.30 g initial weight) Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei offered diets containing various levels of copper hydroxychloride (Cu2(OH)3Cl) containing 58.8% copper (Cu) or Cu sulfate (CuSO4) containing 25.5% Cu. The basal diet (360 g/kg protein, 80 g/kg lipid) was primarily composed of soybean meal, fish meal, corn protein isolate and whole wheat and was formulated to be deficient in Cu (approximately 10 mg Cu/kg). The basal diet (B10) was supplemented with 30, 90, 150, and 210 mg Cu/kg from each Cu source. With the exception of 1 treatment (H220, Cu supplemented diet with dietary copper 210 mg/kg from Cu hydroxychloride, n = 4), five replicate groups of 15 shrimp per tank (initial weight 0.30 g) were offered the test diets in slight excess. At the end of the trial, no significant differences were observed in final biomass (53.20–64.40 g), final mean weight (4.34–4.87 g), weight gain (1349–1544%), feed conversion ratio (FCR, 1.61–1.82), survival (81.3–96.0%), and thermal growth coefficient (0.082–0.087). The carapace, hepatopancreas, and whole shrimp Cu were significantly increased with dietary Cu levels from either source. No significant differences in hemolymph Cu contents were observed between the two sources. The Cu concentrations of hepatopancreas and whole shrimp were significantly lower in shrimp fed diets with Cu hydroxychloride than those in shrimp fed diets with Cu sulfate. The Cu contents of final whole body significantly increased with dietary Cu levels from either source and corresponded to a decreased trend in whole body Cu retention as dietary Cu increased regardless of source. Sequencing of intestinal and fecal microbiomes (16S V1–V3) captured distinct microbial communities based on source but not copper treatment group. However, the abundance of several specific family and genera of bacteria did appear to respond to different types and doses of dietary copper. Among these we observed a trend of decreased abundance of particular species of Vibrios, including V. harveyi, V. sinaloensis and V. orientalis. Results of this study confirm that both copper sources are utilized efficaciously by Pacific white shrimp, however, differential deposition patterns indicated the two sources of Cu are metabolized differently. Hence, additional studies to assess the specific metabolic pathways of various Cu sources as well as possible effects of high copper levels on resistance to infection should be undertaken in the future. Statement of relevance In this study, we assessed the efficacy of various levels of dietary copper supplementation with copper sulfate and copper hydroxychloride in Pacific white shrimp. Our finding shows that both copper sources are utilized efficaciously but metabolized differently by shrimp. This manuscript provides valuable information about effects of high copper levels from two copper sources in shrimp. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Two trials were conducted to evaluate the performance of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei offered diets containing various copper (Cu) levels from Cu hydroxychloride (Cu2(OH)3Cl) containing 58.81% copper in the clear water recirculating system. In both trials, the basal diet (360 g kg−1 protein, 80 g kg−1 lipid) containing approximately 10 mg Cu kg−1 was primarily comprised of fishmeal, soybean meal, corn protein concentrate and whole wheat. In trial 1, test diets were produced supplementing the basal diet with 5, 10, 20, 40 and 60 mg Cu kg−1 from Cu hydroxychloride. Four replicate groups of 15 shrimp per tank (initial weight 0.28 g) were offered diets in slight excess over 8 weeks. In trial 2, the basal diet was supplemented with 30, 90, 150, 210 and 270 mg Cu kg−1 from Cu hydroxychloride. Seven replicate groups of 15 shrimp per tank (initial weight 0.22 g) were offered feed in slight excess over 7 weeks. At the end of the two growth trials, no significant differences were observed in final biomass, final mean weight, percentage weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and survival. In trial 1, the Cu concentrations of the carapace, hepatopancreas and whole shrimp linearly increased with increasing dietary Cu supplements. In trial 2, polynomial regression of Cu concentrations of the carapace, hepatopancreas and whole shrimp against analysed dietary Cu content indicated that a plateau was reached at 215 mg analysed Cu kg−1. Results of this study indicate that there was no negative effect of high levels of Cu supplement with regard to growth and survival. Tissue levels generally increased up to around 200 mg Cu kg−1 diet and then decreased, possibly indicating a shift in physiology.

Fish growth is an important index in aquaculture practice. However, the effect of growth under restricted feeding on quality of fish grown to the same size remains poorly unknown. In this study, yellow catfish were reared by feeding them at three different feeding rates such as low (FR-L group), medium (FR-M group) and high (apparent satiation) ration levels for 82, 58 and 34 days to reach the same size, respectively. After this period, the growth performance, whole-body amino acid composition and fatty acid profile of the fish were evaluated. Feeding restriction led to significant decreases in specific growth rate and feed conversion efficiency. Significant increases in dry matter, protein and energy contents were observed in fish under both restricted feeding treatments. FR-L-treated fish had significantly lower whole-body essential amino acid contents, and significantly higher Ala and non-essential amino acid contents compared to fish fed to satiation. Fish in restricted feeding treatments had significantly higher n-3 PUFA and n-3/n-6 ratio compared to the fish fed to satiation. The present results indicate that from a quality perspective, there are certain advantages in improvement of whole-body composition and enrichment of n-3 PUFA associated with the restricted feeding of yellow catfish at slow growth rate.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of biofloc on the species and quantity of plankton in pond water. There were four treatments in the experiment: the control, no supplementation; treatment I, pond water supplemented with glucose; treatment II, pond water supplemented with both glucose and Bacillus subtilis; and treatment III, pond water supplemented with Bacillus subtilis only. Water quality, plankton, and biofloc formation were monitored every five days. Results showed that biofloc formation was enhanced by adding glucose to the pond water. The addition of glucose together with Bacillus subtilis shortened the formation time of mature bioflocs by about five days than the supplementation with glucose only. In ponds supplemented with glucose and those supplemented with glucose + bacillus, the ammonia nitrogen, and nitrite nitrogen content in the water column decreased, and the number of cyanobacteria and green algae were significantly inhibited, while the number of zooplankton such as Rotatoria increased during the experimental period. © 2017, Israeli Journal of Aquaculture - Bamidgeh. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of the replacement of fish oil (FO) by soybean oil (SO) on growth performance, liver lipid peroxidation, and biochemical composition in juvenile Chinese sucker, Myxocyprinus asiaticus. Fish (13.7±0.2g) in triplicate were fed five experimental diets in which 0% (FO as control), 40% (SO40), 60% (SO60), 80% (SO40), and 100% (SO100) FO were replaced by SO. The body weight gain of fish fed SO40, SO60, or SO80 diet was similar to FO group, but diets that have 100% soybean oil as dietary lipid significantly reduced fish growth (P<0.05). Although the level of SO resulted in increasing crude lipid content of the liver, the level of SO did not significantly alter the hepatosomatic index (HSI). Indicators of peroxidation, such as vitamin E (VE) and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance (TBARS) contents, were changed as increasing dietary SO. It was shown that the inclusion of SO in the diets increased VE concentrations, but reduced TBARS in the liver and total cholesterol (T-CHO) in the plasma. Linoleic acid (LA) and linolenic acid (LNA) significantly increased in fish liver fed diets that contained SO, but eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and the ratio n-3/n-6 were significantly reduced by the inclusion of dietary SO (P<0.05). Our results indicated that the inclusion of SO increased the hepatic VE content and reduced lipid peroxidation in fish. However, diet containing 100% SO as dietary lipid could reduce growth performance. Thus, we recommended that 40–80% SO can be used as dietary lipid to replace FO for juvenile Chinese sucker. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.
